Well this year and the next couple are essentially a write-off anyway, so, while I'll miss watching Phaneuf and think he was wildly under-appreciated during his time in Toronto, it was the right move, and it makes sense. By the time the Leafs are ready to really compete (which, even if things go perfectly, isn't likely to happen for at least three years or so) Phaneuf contract will be a hindrance. They got rid of him without having to retain anything, so that's nice.
It makes sense for the Sens, too, unfortunately.
Im really excited to see what this does for the sens.

Still plenty of time left, but no Canadian teams are currently in a playoff spot in the standings. It's crazy that the only time that actually happened was in 1970, when only the Leafs and Habs were around.

Plenty of time left, but they're all pretty horrible. Ottawa's the only one I can reasonably see making a push, but I don't any of them will make it.

Buffalo should've won that game. Outshot/outpossesd but Anderson was on top all night

I can't decide if I want the Wild to perish or prevail at this point. I can't fucking believe they actually were ready to toss the season to get Yeo fired. its amazing to think but it kind of seems that way at this point considering how bad they were playing up until the new coach came in. Bullshit.
