I'm OK with people not liking me, if the reason they don't like me is because I make choices that I feel to be good or reasonable or right. I'm sure there are people that don't like me with good and fair reason not to, and I don't begrudge them that. If I was rude or mean or dismissive or incompetent or cruel (and I have been and I am sometimes), I understand that you dont like me and I'm sorry. But if someone doesn't like me because of what I don't eat, that's their problem.

We race hermit crabs at my bar every Tuesday. They live in a cared for habitat in our office and we keep a steady supply of shells for them to switch to week after week as they grow.

Once a month on Tuesdays, a taping of The Moth happens at the venue across the street. Almost everyone who has a ticket for that comes into our bar beforehand. All of our bartenders hype the crab races to people all night but a large faction of the NPR Moth Radio crowd rolls their eyes at the suggestion.

I'm not saying that all Moth listeners are insufferable vegans, but...

I love The Moth. I'd say it makes me cry about once a month.

I'm not sure what makes you think that I'm one of the good ones. I never endorsed crab races.

Good man. No matter how hard I sugar coat it, I know in my heart that it's a horrible sport.

No, I didn't come up with any of the names or backstories.

Yes, they are all chock full of purple prose and clever crab-related puns.

A guy just told me he's on the Ketogenic diet. What the fuck is that, you ask? Did some googling and discovered that it's something much crazier sounding that a vegan lifestyle.

Again Argo, I assure you that you're one of the good ones.

My girlfriend is vegetarian and has been doing most of the cooking, so while she's away for a week, I've ordered some "easy vegetarian for students!" type books, because I have no idea what to do with stuff that doesn't have meat in it.

Keto's really not that crazy. It's basically just "no carbs", which is good for rapid weight loss but hard to sustain. I did it for a little while.

This guy was talking about it like it was a lifestyle.

any diet is a lifestyle change, we just are too lazy to maintain a diet once an objective is reached. that's why crash diets don't work. sure you can lose the weight but go back to your original eating habits and you gain it all back.
