I haven't changed the channel since it started.

“Whacking Day” at midnight CST. I have not seen that one in years but remember it being funny.
“Homerpalooza” is Sunday at 1 PM CST. Whoohoo.

We were babysitting our niece last night, so I watched a solid 5 hours. My mother-in-law didn't complain once!

This, along with Ren and Stimpy, was one of the shows my mom tried to ban from the house but my dad and I loved it so much it was a lost cause.

I had friends who were banned from the Simpsons as well. Watching it now it's so harmless compared to some shows now. My parents watched it with me.

It never stuck. My dad and I watched it together from day 1.

Totally bought this shirt when I was like 11-12 (not JR High yet) and my parents were not very happy. I got to keep it but couldn't wear it to school.

I'd love to see a channel do this with Seinfeld. I own them all it'd just be fun.

My grade school (private, Catholic) called a parent-teacher conference to give our parents a list of TV shows that we shouldn't watch; this was probably in like 1994. I'm pretty sure The Simpsons was on it, but it's one of the few that my parents let us watch.

Other shows, like Married with Children and Beavis and Butthead didn't share my father's support. I had to sort of sneak those, though my mom's enforcement of banned TV shows wasn't very strict.

Married w/ Children was a definite no-go in our house, but I was able to sneak-watch it plenty. We didn't have cable until I was in like the 8th grade, so lots of stuff wasn't even an option (like Ren+Stimpy, B+BH, South Park).

Married with Children and Beavis and Butthead was very easy to sneak. By the time South Park came out my mom pretty much gave up.

Okay, I take back what I said - I get the appeal of this marathon now. It's like what Shark Week used to be; I just have it on constantly.

I feel like every week is shark week haha. As someone who doesn't understand the allure of it I feel like it happens a few times a year.
Off the Simpsons topic. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Slays me every time. So funny.
"We need more 'Bort' license plates in the gift shop. I repeat: we are sold out of 'Bort' license plates."
Small child: "Mommy, mommy! Buy me a license plate."
Mother: "No, come along Bort."
Man: "Are you talking to me?"
Mother: "No, my son is also named Bort."
