I like what he brings to the overall recipe of The Office. But he's a shit, for sure. One of the most unlikable characters in the entire series, I think.

I think they found themselves painted into a corner when Steve left. The only character they had that could be morphed into a ghost of Michael Scott was Andy Bernard. And so that's what they did. I haven't watched the last couple seasons nearly as much as the first seven, but I remember really disliking Andy by the end of the series.
I know he's kind of a divisive dude but I always wished they'd gotten Ricky Gervais to take over Steve's slot at the end. I think it could've made a great bridge between the US and UK series, and the characters are different enough that it wouldn't have felt like a rehash.
