sounds like NPR violated one (or more) of the "three t's" of communication

That's what I was trying to put my finger on, right there.

let reid's complaint serve as a helpful reminder for us all in these charged times: there is more to a message than its content, and if any (or all!) of the timing, tone, or tact are off, well, you're never going to get what you want across

Something about the shade and snark just didn't sit well with me, deserving as it is. How is reporting like this helping the divide?
President Donald Trump: Journalists are the enemy of the people. Maxine is low IQ. Kavanaugh protestors were paid by Soros. Lock Hillary Clinton up. Obama is a phony and a terrorist. I’m not taking any of these statements back.
Bombs: (sent to all of the above)
NPR: Lets highlight that correlation.
Trump: The media just needs to shut up if it doesn’t want to get bombed.
I cannot begin to guess why that series of events would strike anybody as
NPR failing to heal the divide.
Yeah, I just...I dunno.
Wake me up when November ends.
It’s a grey, rain-soaked October day, just a hint past lunch time, as I head out to my first assignment. I’ve been sent to interview a man known on the internet as washing machine. He’s a forum poster best known for his space ape avatar, having a lot of talent, and for a deep aversion to political strife. My mission: get to know him. Find out what drives him politically. Or personally. Or whatever.
But now, as I watch raindrops slide down the windshield of my britpop-and-Swisher sweets loving Uber, I begin to wonder: do we ever really know anybody? I mean here I am, 29, scared for my future, and struggling to find a way to pad my bullshit NPR story while also making it more about me.
And that’s when it hits me: me. I am the answer to everything. I always was.

Americans decided long ago they don’t want a subtle delivery.
Just hammer them over the head with what they wanna hear.

Subscribed, with every intention of not letting the notification badges on the app pile on. Who am I kidding, though?

I live for the day when my job includes a contract that says they have to pay me millions of dollars if they fire me.

I never understood that part of business contracts. If I fuck up and they fire me, I'm SOL.

I just don't understand why they have so much negotiating power. You could switch her out with one of a dozen clones and it wouldn't make a difference. Yet they get millions.

It's pretty standard for TV anchors and talking heads to have agents and serious negotiating power.
Even the top TV reporters in big markets have agents.
