I like "Love notwithstanding, we are each of us fucked" as a lyric.

It's not classic angsty transcendent rock Pearl Jam, but it's not "Let the Records Play," so I can live with it. It's got some forward momentum.

Other than that, it’s a weird song as a single. There is no real chorus. It’s growing on me but doesn’t add up as a single.
One quick look at Facebook shows that I am correct in my analysis.

I’m back to just say it’s not DTE but it’s light years (pun intended) better than CDM or LTRP or whatever. It’s not a classic satisfying song structure but they’re doing some interesting weird things throughout and it never quits. It’s not an all timer but god damn it hits the spot for what it is. I know that sounds like faint praise but always remember this band is the equivalent of Voodoo Lounge.

The track list of it leading in lot DOTC is already jarring as hell.

Love that first single but this has really tempered my expectations for the album. I get what Kid C said about this album being close to Lightning Bolt.

What I don’t get about PJ anymore is how simplistic and sloppy the playing and chord structure has gotten. Have a look at those first few albums, the chords Stone used added so much colour and were complex to write a melody over. Now it’s sloppy faux punk and sounds lazy

This is the only forward momentum I'm getting from this song

This sounds so much better on headphones! I can't see how anyone can think that Ed sounds bad here. He sounds great. This style of singing with him racing through a lot of verses isn't my favourite but no way does he sound bad. He doesn't sound strained which a lot of people didn't like on previous albums.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

I have no idea either. What happened to the band that wrote Black, Even Flow, Daughter, Alive? They were so untraditional. and now....yeah. I mean I liked the 2006 album but omg enough already
