I'm with you. I haven't been able to get through the whole thing once since I first listened to it. This kind of stuff just does nothing for me.
I would be with you if it weren't for the fact that I find this song so melodically strong -- I love singing to it -- and Josh Evans has captured the acoustic guitar so well, it feels like I'm just chilling in a room with the live performer

So far this song hasn’t done much for me. Pretty boring actually. There’s nothing dynamic about it. Maybe it’ll grow on me

The quality of the acoustic guitar sound saves this track ... thing is I feel like we'll find out later there was a better track that didnt make the album in favor of this ... (of course there always is, but...) this is an Ed solo track ... if they are gonna do that on the album then please do the Elderly Woman version where the band comes in after the first verse of something and peps it up... and maybe throws some organ in there too? this after 'Buckle Up' which is already a quiet one is just a bit much after the intro to the album which seared... it's like you wait for that to come back but it doesn't ... need some denouement

Also this song is beautiful, and if you don't like it you're probably dead inside.

in a song filled with great lyrics (a different section moves me each day), this one caught my ear today:

Can I say, how ya been?
I can guess and conjecture
My altered perceptions unclear
Please interfere

communication breakdown. fucks everything up.

Such a testament to the power this man possesses as a writer, performer, and captivating presence that this song is six+ minutes. It earns every bit of its run time

Ed cut out a piece of his beating heart, pasted it on a song sheet, and recorded it. It's beyond incredible.
