Who Ever Said would be a good choice for a fourth single.

What do singles after the album release even mean anymore in the streaming era? What does it change except... knowing it's a single? Radio play? Do people still listen to the radio? Maybe getting a video? I thought Quick Escape being a single one day before the album was released was weird enough already.

I don't think it's unusual to keep releasing singles near / on / after release date; people are very single song-focussed now; they'll hear a song they love on the radio, put it on a mixed genre / artist playlist, and never buy the album but still end up giving the artist support and exposure

True Mike. The last three albums only had three singles. I haven't checked further back.

Its a grower- need to do a deep dive headphone run. I think there is a lot to explore. The ending is gold, of course. Good pickup on the reverb effect on Ed's vocals- didn't notice that the first few times through.

This track number is super special to me. Release and Sleight of Hand are my two favorite songs of all time. And I can’t choose which I love more. Leash and Army Reserve are my favorite songs from their albums too. I’m having difficulty determining the order of tracks 5-8, they’re basically interchangeable. I like Mankind for its novelty and Yellow Moon would’ve been a fine closer to the Lightning Bolt album. The End I find mostly just annoying.

Another weaker number. The final run of a lot of their albums really run out of steam

I've worked in non-profit education my whole life. If you're that unhappy and unfulfilled in your job go back to school and do something else. Quit whining about it. that's my read on Sleight of Hand.

This certainly sounds like a take from someone who has worked in academia his whole life. Surely you understand that not everyone stuck in a miserable job has the resources to just put his or her life on hold to go back to fucking college, as if that guarantees anyone anything anyway. Don't get me wrong, I've been in jobs that have made me utterly miserable and I support the general premise that eventually we become co-conspirators in our own misery, but this take feels pretty oblivious to me. I mean, couldn't you essentially make this same argument about every song chronicling any personal unhappiness of any kind? Aren't "Corduroy" and "Not For You" also, in effect, Eddie bellyaching about how much he hates his job?
