I think the best we can hope for is No Code/Yield era. But, who knows they may create another album that creates a new golden era, and one that we pine for a 'return to' for many years/albums after that.

I believe that was their aim for Backspacer, but I feel they missed the mark by about a mile.
A No Code or Binaural type turn on this album would be a good one. I want something that aims higher and pushes the boundaries.

Mainstream radio is nothing to aim for these days...it's a graveyard of mediocrity.
That last sentence hit the nail on the head. Back when PJ weren't trying to write radio friendly tracks, they were making their best music. Let's hope the last couple of albums have got it out of their system, and they just want to make fan albums again. :bammer:

agree, if they can pull that off, I'd even consider listening to them again.
wow, even malice is getting caught up in the new album excitement.
let's not get carried away, spork.
oh, it's too late for that here.

Just like when we were kids, and we'd wish every day was Christmas. In one of the Red Dwarf books, Lister ends up in a virtual reality world where his lives within a world mimicking the movie 'It's a Wonderful Life'. It has a Groundhog Day effect, where every day is Christmas day.

From memory it almost ends up driving him insane. Be careful what you wish for.

really excited for the self-fulfilling prophesies in this thread to come true tomorrow.

there's nothing quite as exciting as people seeking out a public forum to talk about being disappointed so they can be further disappointed.

I'm not so sure. If it is a second account it's been very well executed.

I'm not sure that there's a way to prove it, but this definitely isn't a second account. I found this place a few years ago via the Backspacer art/images promotion trail that was going around in the lead up to the details of the new album being announced.

I then forgot all about this place until a few months ago, when I was trawling for new details on the next album. I found the '10th album rumours' thread (that from memory morphed and merged a couple of times ). After reading stalking it for so long, I decided to join in on the fun. So, here I am.
