These songs just have so much soul, rawness, and emotion, vulnerability, live-ness, it all hearkens back to the 2000 tour to me, so much heartbreak and depression. Anything of recent release I find to polished and purposed, less loose. Mind you, these be demos...prior to the polishing.

11 song tracklist for these leaks, other 9...not sure what it all means wrt to LB.

This takes me back to the Fatal/Letter to the Dead leak way back in 2003, prior to LD, an interesting move then, an interesting move now with these.

CC>LIR
i havent had a chance to go back through all 15 pages from after i went to bed, so how do we know that these 2 songs are from an 11 song tracklist?
Somebody played them in iTunes and they're tracks number 3 and 6 of 11. Also, KurtLeon said he'd try to get the other 9.

Now where does that London, ON soundcheck leak recording fit in amongst all this...?
He did? Cool. I wonder where he got them from. If we knew it may shed some light on why they were leaked and how they'll be possibly released.

on the one listen i gave them, i was grinning like an idiot for CC
LiR not so much, but the end of it was so good, just a good old fashioned PJ jam

To me it's a straight up Stone Gossard tune. The opening verses sound almost like Fatal, then it kinda stomps along like 1/2 Full and Rival. Overall, it just has a certain swagger to it, which PJ songs just don't have these days.

It took a few listens but from 2mins on it just soars. The solo and Ed's bridge.

I love the "read backwards to beginning" line.

This band is its one, true, worst enemy. They literally get in their own way to ultimate greatness. CC sounds like a band just letting go in the studio and letting it pour out.

If i close my eyes and wish hard enough those ed vocals on CC sound recent....ish i'm so used to disliking his voice on new songs i don't know what to do with myself. Who ever mentioned tom waits and a smokey bar was right

Do we know who wrote what?

Not to rain on this parade BUT i hope the new album has more "hair" on it

CC is a beautiful heart broken ballad though

LIR belongs a B side

I, too, love the vulnerable higher-pitched crackly vox Eddie does in CC.

I definitely can see how CC just wdnt fit right on either S/T or BS.....

LIR is a classic PJ B side. ...

If these are up over at the pit, then they are not on album 10

My God, only seeing this thread now. Can't download anything here at work, but checked out the YouTube links... I love this stuff so much. True PJ greatness. The way Let it Ride builds naturally, not forced, just a pool of emotion.

Organic build. Cathartic release. Not some artificial "clap your hands, this part is building and then yeah yeah yeah" approach...

The bouncy guitar a the beginning, stones "lead" lines near the outro while Mccready wails in the back ground. Stone plays this incredibly groovy (textbook stone riffs) guitar line while working off Aments bass lines; which are solidly locked in with Cameron.

Also, eds voice. The phrasing. They are subtle and he is holding a strong emotion while the song naturally climaxes.

So great.

This. Everything is natural and in unison. No effect is forced.

I'll merge this into the Cold Confession/Let It Ride thread after I get an answer, which I assume I can quickly.

Anyone know what became of these two songs? Was either renamed or are they still in unreleased?

PearlJamOnline lists them in the same session as CC and LIR.
Dicembre 2004 Studio X - Seattle, WA
Ed Vedder - vocals, guitar; Stone Gossard - guitar; Mike McCready - guitar; Jeff Ament - bass; Matt Cameron - drum kit, percussion

2x4

Cold Confession
World Wide Suicide

Armor
Crapshoot Rapture
Let It Ride

Cold Confession reminds me of a Walking Papers song. Not one song in particular I think but they have some songs that have a similar vein.

It'll piss everyone here off, but I bet that was cut in favor of Gone.
