Well, that happened.
I'm not sure if anything changed at the state level in NC.
- Our legislature moved within 1 vote of a Republican supermajority, but for now the [Dem] Governor's vetoes will hold.
- Abortion is banned at 20 weeks by an 1893 law that was never repealed. Not sure how anyone who wants to can change that.
- NC Supreme Court was swept by Republicans, but any high profile fights were going to the US Supreme Court anyhow.
- Once the US Supreme Court gives election law to the state legislatures with no input from Governors or courts, we're all fucked anyhow.
Only solution is 6 new US Supreme Court Justices.

Why are senators like Boebert and Greene already up for re-election when they were just elected 2 years ago? US Senators serve a 6-year term.

They're Representatives.
Warnock's up for re-election, because he was filling a vacancy.

Do you feel safe enough to rest knowing that crime is spiking to insane levels in September 2024 because of President Biden?

We had a sweet-looking but stern old lady manning the line at the polls yesterday. There was a moment when a guy declined his "I voted" sticker on the way out, and she shamed him in front of everyone. It was...something.
Then later my wife's phone rang (after warnings to the crowd about putting devices on silent), but luckily for her some people near us leaving the building accidentally got the blame for it.
