Also wasn’t Mattel making Barbie dolls that were in careers traditionally men only as far back as the 50’s? They’ve been brainwashing little kids from the beginning!

He was probably too bored and confused to pay attention or fell asleep
No he said he and his friends really liked it. Said it was funny and didn’t mention anything about an agenda against men.
What a bunch of cucks

And the more I think about it that kind of behavior is expected by a young man who has been taught that men are inherently evil his entire life. Ken behavior

Right. The kid that calls his sister fat and makes jokes to his mom about women belong in the kitchen. I don’t think he thinks men are inherently evil

He has accepted his fate. He is who he is and there’s no turning back now

The bit I’m confused on

The US government passed a law in the 80s to basically stop toy manufacturers, mostly from Japan, making animated series to promote their toys. Captive audience etc etc
So transformers he man etc etc

But it’s ok with the movies being made?

This makes no sense - there was a new He Man series out a few years ago that Kevin Smith did, and quite a few Transformer series out there being made

Yeah i think that’s false dime. They were making gi joe cartoons into the 90s. Also Care Bears, rainbow brite, etc.

There were some rules, like they couldn't advertise the toys during the cartoon, and they had to have public service announcements, but no outright bans. They tightened up regulations a bit in the nineties. That's probably why toys started sucking.

Lego has been pumping out series & movies pretty steady. With plenty of product placement.

Disney & Nickelodeon has done the same with many of their shows.

Dime may not be wrong, but he's certainly not right.

Good things about this:
- Margot Robbie, obviously
- Ryan Gosling giving it his all
- The "traveling to/from Barbieland" sequences were fun
- Uhh

I really think this is an indefensibly bad movie, but it's not "anti man" or "dangerous" or whatever. It's completely nonsensical and gaudy but it's a fucking Barbie movie! The real problem to me is that it's deeply unfunny. I laughed once, at a Will Ferrell line delivery during that FUCKING INTERMINABLE scene where everyone just stands around talking shit out for what feels like 40 minutes. That line may have stopped me from walking out. Everything else is about on par with that "beach you off" joke from the first trailer. Really wish this had been good, because the people who hate it are being extremely annoying about it. 4/10
