We’re also at the top of the upgrade list for the flight to LA, but only two first class seats are left. I’m fine with the wife and kid taking them, so I can just chill back in cattle class.

Have you gotten one of the volume limited toddler sets yet?
I believe so. We have a traditional looking pair of cans, then a fleece headband one. I think the latter one will be clutch, because the cans always slip off her head and she doesn’t quite know how to put them back yet.

I’m sorry everyone. I had a bad night last night. I may never recover from this one.

Thank you soma. Thank you dad.

And spike, I hope your kid gets all the mimosas at 40,000 feet she desires.

Thanks, pal. I’m just hoping she gets a good night’s sleep, since she’ll be able to stretch out.

Upgrade from Chicago to LA not looking good. Someone with more United status bumped us down the list.

Lol, United has improved a lot in the last decade. It’s honestly not our first choice, but it’s the best option (maybe only) with regard to my wife’s work travel and travel to Australia. Doesnt’t make sense to rack up Qantas points as well.

:P I'm busting your balls. We're Delta SkyMiles users and regularly get the 1st Class upgrade on domestic flights...But we're generally SOL on any international flights we're eyeballing. The thought of paying $7K for three overnight pods is horrifying, but is it really worse than paying $1500 for basic economy with a toddler over night?
I’ll let you know!

we can usually put up with coach so long as we don't have to sleep and the flight is shorter than say 10 hours. the longest flight i've ever been on was for our honeymoon (16.5 hours), and i think i'm still recovering after 15 years.
