I always make Cornish hens for thanksgiving instead. No forcing myself to eat increasingly diminishing leftovers for days on end that way, plus it's just better than turkey anyway.

My great-aunt is too old to travel so her family will have the holiday with her this year, and my uncle hurt his back so he's staying home this year, too. Got some premade Cajun butter to inject this year, combined with frying the turkey I think I have fully come around to bring a turkey lover

I have still never had a deep fried turkey.
