Lament wrote:Not anymore, really. The Stones skyrocketed on this last tour, didn't they? In 2009/2011 U2 was still like $70 for GA, $130 for most reserved, right? We'll see what they are next spring/summer, but I can't see them jumping to the level the Stones were at last year (in large part cause I can't see U2 abandoning the GA floors).
true story for you: Bono lived around the corner from me in NY and I used to see him all the time..One day he was walking towards me on the street and I said something to the tune of " hey, how about you stop trying to save the world and put on some free concerts here in the city"..he just laughed
That's a good one. To their defense, didn't they play on the back of a truck while rolling down Broadway in 2005ish?

We post on an Internet message board. Like, a lot. There is no hope.

Going back and looking at that picture as soon as I got up this AM was the best move I will make all day. I can't stop smiling.

U2's image in the 90's was a self-aware parody of the rock n' roll ethos.

U2's image post-2000 is a cringingly naive embrace of what they think they world thinks they are.

Seems ed has settled in Bruce for his template for this period.
That's no bad thing.

Even Neil is only playing at being Neil.

If you doubt me, read Waging heavy peace.

That guy is more wackadoodle lost up how own ass than Michael Jackson ever was.
And I'm a fan.
