Riot Act: Official Album Thread

I really struggle to get excited about Help Help (meandery slop rock) & Green Disease (does anything happen in this song of note?). Get Right is also pretty forgettable. Especially when "Other Side" could have been included.

Those are three of my favorite songs on RA.

I totally understand why Other Side was left off of Riot Act.

Wasn't it recorded specifically as a b-side, after Riot Act was finished though? Down is an actual outtake, but this one really isn't.

That Italian site with the recording sessions says it was recorded during the original Riot Act sessions, but was also recorded again in December of 2002. Hard to say for sure, apparently.

Fatal is really fascinating song for me. I remember when those outtakes first dropped and people freaking the fuck out about them. Fatal was the one everyone was universally praising. I was really surprised when I finally heard them and found that it was the least interesting of the three. It's a good song. I like it a lot, don't get me wrong. But it's never hit me the way it hits others. Other than Sweet Lew, I'd say it's my least favorite of the Binaural era outtakes that we've heard. But it's still goddamn lovely. Which just goes to show how strong those sessions were.
