Oh yeah. Pretty sexy.
No doubt, but after what went down at NESN it's pretty stupid that she went from that all the way to #2 NFL SLR at CBS of all places, where they hadn't had SLRs for a decade.

I have always enjoyed Rachel Nichols.
the attorney in the office right next to mine (aside from being overly annoying) was college roommates with Rachel Nichols. she came into our office last year when she was meeting that attorney for lunch and popped her head in to be introduced. totally normal chick. really, really nice.

Didn't she sleep with the head of ESPN or something though to get a good position there?

I confess, I didn't ask her about that. I probably should have.

I'll be curious to see what the tone/format of his show will be. It sounds like he will continue to do podcasts too. I missed his perspective during the NBA playoffs.

Whenever there's fallout over someone making racist or culturally insensitive comments, my eyes nearly roll out of my head when people talk about "making a mistake" (like the stuff that came out yesterday about Hulk Hogan, or the Donald Sterling stuff last year); holding bigoted views and then deciding to air them (even in private) is not a "mistake." But Cowherd's situation does seem more in line with a poor choice of words that do not express some deeply-held belief. It'd be similar to me (an educator) saying something like, "In general, my minority students aren't as prepared when they enter my class." Most of my colleagues would probably fill in what comes after: "...because inner-city schools in our state, which predominantly serve minority communities, don't prepare them for college-level work because of the inherent inequalities in the system." If I was really speaking off the cuff, I might say something like, "My black students can't do the work," which would be easy to misconstrue as "SIMPLE TORTURE THINKS ALL BLACK STUDENTS ARE STUPID AND LAZY," which is why I always try to choose my words carefully. Cowherd probably should've been more precise with his language, but as t2b said: come on, now; we know that's not him.

Basically... Anyone who listens to his show knows he's actually a liberal/progressive. I heard those comments live and immediatly knew he was meaning it in a socio-economic context. He's actually taken a lot of heat because of his outspoken liberal views. He took Sheriff Joe to task on his immigration sweeps and was uninvited to a bunch of events here.
This is a case where, yes, he should have chosen his words better, but it's crazy to label the guy a bigot.
Sorry, that's not nearly as good as the original post.

I don't really listen to his show but that was my interpretation of what happened as well.

Agree with T2B. I listen to Colin all the time. He's a good guy. I knew what he meant to say but it did come out incredibly inartful and I get why people got pissed. When he apologized he should have focused more on his regret for how it came out instead of using stats to back up what he meant. That really didn't help. I knew he was done when it was topics on Around The Horn and PTI. ESPN always keeps that stuff in house and muzzles everyone when an on air talent gets in trouble. If he wasn't on his way out that never would have happened. Colin always says when you are talking for four hours a day everyday sometimes dumb stuff comes out and in this case he said something dumb. He compounded it but not walking it back in the right way. I don't think he's a bigot.

He thinks that after coming to the NBA he hasn't gotten rid of his "thug" mentality and will never win a championship because of it. Apparently Wall was caught in some pictures last year throwing up gang signs.
