Just as I suspected. It's getting worse.

Yes, the first one was much better. This one felt like a typical song Ed would do in a solo setting, or in this case, with Glen. The first one was genuinely intense and emotional, the kind of qualities missing from recent Ed solo songs.

i feel like its gonna be like every other pearl jam song ed has debuted solo. its kinda intriguing, but whatever the rest of the band ends up doing w/ it is gonna make it worse.
when is ed and glen's album coming out?

I actually liked what they did with The End.
I'd like to listen to a full band version of this one, provided they use the first performance as a template and work from there. The second one is nowhere near as good.

Beautiful. Vedder is a genius when this comes to the writing of big melodies. Nobody makes it better.

As far as i remember nobody from the band actually played on The End, except Ed.

I meant I liked what they did with the arrangements in the studio version. It was sparse and that suited the song. I didn't like it nearly as much when Ed debuted it live. SoS was much better in the demo. The band sort of ruined it for me on the album.
This track is not as mellow as those and could receive a different treatment if they ever decided to work on it. There are parts where they could really jam. It's all just in my head at the moment.

The End, ironically, wasn't arranged by either the band or BOB.

I honestly don't know who arranged it; I'm pretty bad at remembering these details. Whoever did it was very tasteful imo. SoS was anything but.

According to the almighty wiki, a guy named Eddie Horst did the orchestral arrangements for the record.

Until the band plays accompaniment and it gets mixed by BoB.

What's with all the BoB hate around here? He is an amazingly accomplished producer and has produced some of Pearl Jams best work (including Lightning Bolt)
I really don't understand some of you people.
