I know KD already covered some discussion group, but I'm really excited to see how you react to some of the later stuff. I adore the first two records (Her Majesty, especially!) but I think The Crane Wife (very proggy and heady and all about storytelling!) and What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World are my two favorites. The later is less proggy, it's just gorgeous songs that just fucking work all the way around.Ms Harmless wrote:still only the first two albums so far I'm afraid, but I loved them and I'm confident that I'll also enjoy their forays into prog and alternative when they happen
is that based on the Irish Táin Bó Cuailnge? if so I'm sure it will be!epilogue wrote:I know KD already covered some discussion group, but I'm really excited to see how you react to some of the later stuff. But this is a band without a bad record. I genuinely love everything they've released. And, like PJ, they have a pretty deep bench of b-sides/non-album tracks that are among some of my favorite Decemberists tunes.
If you're jonesing for another epic, long form track, check out The Tain. I have a feeling that might be right up your alley.
