Are the background vocals unusually aggressive on this record?

You noticed the subtle threats of physical violence and sexual abuse, too, eh?

I mean, I don't know. But you could probably read the first few pages of the thread and getting a fair enough idea.

I love that little hint at the end of Sleep Like A Baby Tonight.

I keep going back and forth on it because I favor specificity in my songwriting, but wouldn't begrudge anyone who goes for something more general.
Slide on next to me. I'm just a human being.
I will take the blame, but just the same
this is not me
you see.
Brilliant.

At the moment, I lean closer to the "this is only decent" side than anything--a 6.5 or 7 is fair. But I think a lot of the negative reactions in the press are massively hyperbolic, and the method of distribution seems to have overshadowed any genuine assessment of the material. There's some great stuff here, and a lot of potential that they could capitalize on in future records.

If nothing else, it doesn't feel stagnant. And for a band of their stature and longevity, that's pretty damn rare.

Now it all makes sense why this album was delayed... $30 Million from Apple  to help promote the new iPhone release!!!

VERY smart of them to do so... I don't think any band makes any money off album sales anymore.

...

I really like 3 songs... the rest is typical, mediocre post-2000 U2.

Any and all comparisons to a "return to the early 80's" sound should be taken as satire!

If you really believe this is true, I suggest you go back and listen to Boy or War again :shake:

"OK, here's a free album from one of the greatest bands of all time"
"FUCK YOU MAN!"

Isn't there a way to remove it from your cloud account?

None that a quick google search finds. Only ways to hide all your purchased songs, which is counterintuitive to my desire to stream my songs
