I was 10 when that was originally on. My mom was obsessed with it. I watched two episodes with her and it freaked the shit right out of me.

Best thing is that a few years ago, i bought the dvd box set of the first season, to watch it again. I never went back to the series and i wanted to see it with my ex gf.

It was magical again, because it stood up all that time, and freaked out both of us.

I'm almost 100% that I've seen zero of these films. Most of the titles aren't even familiar.

If you watched AMC or TCM in the 90s you probably saw them all 12 times. :-)

Ah. I did not. So there we are.

Are they all westerns?

No. My favorites tend to be his westerns and a couple with Stewart that weren't westerns. Those are the ones I remember being on a lot (the Jimmy Stewart ones) so I'm exaggerating. A lot of those I haven't seen. I remember liking The Fall of the Roman Empire though.

I remember wanting to watch El Cid so bad and I was so excited when I got a chance to see it. The print was so bad it was unwatchable. It was like someone turned those knobs on the VCR to purposefully make it look blurry. Really disappointing.

Sometimes I think Mann is the greatest director of all time. He is certainly the greatest in terms of camera movement and frame composition.
