Good idea.

There's a fantastic sounding audience recording of the Chula Vista, CA show up on dime for those who are interested.
I snagged this and checked it out at work today. Sounds very good indeedy.

Very much looking forward to seeing them myself in a few months.

I'm so thrilled!

Looks like an incredible show, first Shake Dog Shake opener of the tour too. I'd be ecstatic with a set like that.

Poor weather meant the band's set was almost moved to a smaller stage and I believe their time was cut somewhat short as a result.

Before they announced the Ridgefield show I was going to go to this one instead. I'm glad I didn't. I love the Gorge but the weather can be terrible there and festival sets are always shorter.

A friend of mine from Portland went to this. She bought tickets for Vancouver and decided to make it a long weekend, and after she'd already made all her plans, they announced the Ridgefield (Portland) show. I'm looking forward to getting her report about the Vancouver show. I'm really jealous she got to hear "Trust", but otherwise this is pretty similar to the show we got down here.

Last night was 2:45 of swaying happiness. More hits would have been nice but you go in knowing that The Cure's going to play what they want to play. I was happy with 8 songs from Disintegration, my fave Cure release.
Robert Smith is an engaging front man, leaving my son and I wishing he spoke a little more to the audience, and a way better guitarist than I would have thought. Robert takes most of the solos and leads, leaving Reeves Gabriel (of Bowie fame) playing rhythm on all but a hand full of songs.

The only other complaint that I've seen about the sets on this tour is that the band are leaning too heavily on the hits!

In that set above I count sixteen singles, for example - or eighteen if you include Play for Today and A Night Like This which weren't technically released as standalone singles but have film clips, received radio play and were included on the CD edition of the Standing on a Beach singles compilation.

Very much looking forward to seeing these guys again next month. From what I understand they still have plenty of songs left that were rehearsed and haven't been added to the sets yet so I'm interested to see what else crops up.

Glad the Frow and I pulled the trigger and went to the Denver show tonight... They played four songs from Bloodflowers, which is both of our favorite Cure album (contrary to popular opinion). Fiddler's Green is a ho-hum venue... Nothing special, but the views of the Front Range are nice from the lawn. I'd much rather have seen them play at Red Rocks, but then Robert & Co. wouldn't have made as much $$.

and now for the whiskey hangover :?

I'll admit I'm kind of hoping we don't get a Bloodflowers-themed set in Adelaide next month. It's my least favourite Cure album.

Good question and I've gone back and forth on the best answer.

I think it's definitely one with Boris Williams on drums but that's still at least four (or arguably five or six depending on how pedantic you want to be) different line-ups.

Probably either the Robert/Simon/Porl/Lol/Boris line-up that made The Head on the Door and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me or that which made Disintegration which is the same but with the addition of Roger (who came onboard for the Kiss Me tour).

I think the current line-up with Reeves is their best since the 1990-1992 line-up that made Wish. Though it's almost the same as the long-running 1994-2004 line-up, having Reeves on guitar instead of Perry Bamonte has made a gigantic difference.
