In a nod to the title of this very thread, The Saints are apparently reforming for a national tour with Mark Arm filling (the frankly unfillable) shoes of Chris Bailey, as well as Mark Harvey (of the Bad Seeds) along for the ride:

https://www.theguardian.com/culture/art ... -announced

I may have said it before, but hand on heart, I think if I had to name my favourite singer of all time I'd likely go with Chris Bailey. Dunno what it is about his delivery and voice, but I just love it. Hoping Mark Arm can do him and the band justice. They've got a pretty damn good back catalogue to work through.

Grinspoon is releasing new music. I didn't love the single.

I want them to do well, but I dunno man.

they always had a good live show, seen them a bunch of times

Although they are playing at a venue I refuse to go to due to poor sound though, oh well.

Old school sounding punk.. it would fit right in on the Tony hawk soundtracks
I love Civic

I have a cool story on how I discovered this band

I was in Nashville in October 2023 for a football game. A couple of us decided to walk back to our Airbnb from downtown which was a 2.5 hour walk

Half way through the walk we stumble upon this small building that felt like in the middle of nowhere. We heard this loud aggressive music blaring out of it. We thought whoa this sounds interesting - none of us like country so it was exciting hearing something good.

We walk into this place that has maybe 25 people inside.

Civic is just rocking out on stage. I’m like who the hell are these guys. This is fucking great!

Been a big fan since then.

This is a great story.

I actually downloaded the album today funnily enough. Gonna give it a crank.

Not entirely sure if this is a sincere question but see also Mark of Cain, Tropical Fuck Storm, Tame Impala and probably stuff like The Dirty Three and The Necks.

OK, not necessarily 'Album's of 2024' material, but my home town crew Jebediah have put out a newie this year, and lead single Bad for You is an earworm indeed.

I just realised that I did indeed post this very tune in the 'Album's of 2024' thread back when.

Still a banger.

I frikkin' love it, and the video is excellent too. It's gonna pair well with Idles Gift Horse side-by-side on my year-end mixer.

Never heard of Jordie Lane before but heard this new single from him played on the radio as I drove to work. Perhaps its my melancholy Friday mood, but I really enjoyed this one.

This goes ludicrously hard. Chur.

I freaking love Jebediah - such a fun live band I've seen countless times over the past 25+ years. Not the best Aussie band out there but definitely one of my favourites.

Bad for You and Aqualung are a great pair of bookends to this album and newish ground for them. My album highlight Rubberman certainly is :nice:
