I get the "humid music" thing, I think. Thick atmosphere full of uncomfortable, sticky heat. So...hot and heavy arrangements? The mention of "sleek" in the same sentence totally contradicts that, of course.

Why? Why was it painful? What was so objectionable about it? To me it felt like a warmer, better thought-out version of what I read on RM everyday.
