Imagine if this was how the polling had looked in 1994. Democrats trying to pass their assault weapons ban would not have had to make concessions like that absurdly narrow definition of assault rifle or a set expiration date in order to pass the bill.

That looks like a great case for a strong constitution that protects minority rights from majority rule.
