Looks like it's falling apart already. City and Chelsea are rumored to be pulling out and Barca are saying they won't join without approval from the Assembly of Members (who will almost certainly vote no)

The old bastard at RM was defending joining pretty hard yesterday, basically saying RM will be broke by 2024 without the move and it's to save football. He also said games might need to be shortened because young people can't watch a 90 minute match without tuning out. Just crazy stuff. Nuke that bastard.

Barcelona has a huge debt.
They are now saying that Man City is pulling out as well.

I have absolutely 0 sympathy for these clubs and their financial difficulties. The amount of money they throw around is absolutely obscene.
If they're in such trouble let them declare bankruptcy like any other business.

this is all starting to look like leverage for a bailout from their respective leagues, with more dollars flowing to them out rights, marketing, and deals.

I definitely think they wanted this to go through. Hilarious how quickly it imploded though.

I can't believe how quickly this has all unraveled? How could they possibly have misjudged public sentiment this badly?
JP Morgan invested 4bn in an idea that didn't even last 48 hours?
