Was reading a post from a gun owner about reasons to have a gun, standard bullshit, but he ended it with "of course, it's worth noting that the main thing having a gun in your house does is astronomically increase the chances that you or one of your loved ones will be shot with it."

Narcotics officers had been attempting to serve an arrest warrant at the house around 4:30 p.m. when shots rang out and a gun battle erupted, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Anyway, if you can't delineate between merely noting that the victims--none of whom are expected to die--are police officers and celebrating their injuries, then I certainly wouldn't expect you to grasp the (important) difference between, say, the El Paso style mass shooting which has been in the news and in discussion here as of late, and narcotics officers serving a warrant in a high-crime neighborhood of Philadelphia being shot in the line of duty. You brought up "root causes" a few pages back, I think it's quite safe to say that there is a different root cause here.

If, in the context of the Micky account's posts, you think this quote actually ends with anything outside the range of "who cares?" to "they deserved it" you aren't paying attention.
