i don't think that's necessarily incorrect. you can raise what's currently in the pot, to some people

It is incorrect. It’s a new line of betting. Had the first action been a bet, then the other player raises, you’re not raising the pot. You’re raising the bet.

It is incorrect. It’s a new line of betting. Had the first action been a bet, then the other player raises, you’re not raising the pot. You’re raising the bet.

Maybe the person who taught him worded it that way. It's really not a big deal.

Cirk isn't even interested in playing poker. It's just a fun anecdote, and a way for him to show off his card skills.

So would you say it, or any other blatant poker mistake, would also be acceptable if it were part of one of the big games he played in?

I mean it’s one thing if it was 5 second throwaway scene on National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation.

yeah i'd say it'd be somewhat unacceptable if he said raise instead of bet during a WSOP game .. and if nobody corrected him
