I was so lonely talking to myself in this thread.

Welcome my friends. I can’t believe you came all this way to see me

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
“This movie had a very, very specific challenge, which was to take eight films and give an ending to three trilogies, and so we had to look at, what is the bigger story? We had conversations amongst ourselves, we met with George Lucas before writing the script,”
Abrams revealed. “These were things that were in real, not debate, but looking at the vastness of the story and trying to figure out, what is the way to conclude this? But it has to work on its own as a movie, it has to be its own thing, it has to be surprising and funny and you have to understand it.”

Trailer is good and non specific. Looking forward to seeing this.
And nothing comes close to the awe I saw in my daughters eye as that trailer started. There’s fire there.

Obviously not in the movies, but have we ever actually seen or done anything on Endor elsewhere in the canon?
I have to imagine the death star portion of this will be on Endor. Would make the most sense that is where it fell to.

Star Wars is Pearl Jam.durdencommatyler wrote:I don't like any of the PT films more than the modern day crop of SW films, but I do really appreciate a lot of the PT. Some really cool stuff in there. Some fucking terrible stuff, too. But I think there's some weird/bad/clunky stuff in all SW films.

Agree and if Palpatine comes back it should be in that way. I hope Luke is handled the same way.Ensign9 wrote:I see no reason he can’t come back as a force ghost a la Obi-Wan, Anakin, Yoda and Luke.Anders wrote:I agree that something like that is the most likely, probably in the old death star.durdencommatyler wrote:In all seriousness I don't think Palpatine will be alive again in this. I think he's the McGuffin. Kylo and Rey are both after something that connects to him. We'll see him in hologram/holocron form, or in a flashback. But that's it.

Abrams confirmed today that Palpatine is in the movie. Said he was surprised people didn't know already since Ian was openly on set.

I remember a scene from one of the animated series where Hera is there post-return of the Jedi. But that's itStrat wrote:Obviously not in the movies, but have we ever actually seen or done anything on Endor elsewhere in the canon?
