Having not seen most of these, I was still thinking that Priscilla, Napoleon, Asteroid City and Past Lives might be among the top contenders, ahead of movies like The Iron Claw and Origin.

Interesting to see Iron Claw on the list. I'm looking forward to seeing it, but it's going to be a rough watch.

I guess I can see Barbie be up for Best Picture, etc. But any of the acting categories seems a bit of a stretch.

I fully expect Barbie to be nominated for Best Picture, Best Screenplay (not sure if it's one of those weird rules where it would be Original Screenplay or technically adapted but it should get that nod in whichever category in which it qualifies), Best Actress, Best Actor, Production Design, and Director. Those should be absolute locks for Barbie.

Past Lives should also absolutely get a Best Picture nomination. I'm certain it'll get Screenplay. And, honestly, Spider-verse should be BP as well.

The only reason Barbie would be nominated for best picture is to bring in a younger audience for the Oscars. The Oscars are old and stale. But in no way do I think it is a best picture. And locks for the acting categories?! Lol. Acting like a fake plastic doll is a critique of an acting coach, not worthy of an Oscar. I know I'll catch heat for this, and it has nothing to do with the message of the movie. It was just a terrible movie.

My 13 year old stepson and his buddies are performing "I'm Just Ken" for this year's talent show. I'm looking forward to it!

Let us not forget that you have not seen the movie, but for some reason still have an opinion about it.

dang if that's the rule, I should be mad at pretty much everyone all the time. but luckily i believe it's OK for people to have differing opinions, and it's ok to make fun of them for it too
