Definitely a once-a-year beer.

That stuff messed me up last weekend

I've had Lagunitas IPA and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale goin in my fridge this week.

I think I've finally decided I'm over IPA's and sticking with pales now at home.

I'll probably stick with IPA's at bars and baseball games though, more bang for your buck.

Some friends shared some really nice farmhouse beers with us last night, but they led to progressively shittier selections that we all brought to the table as the night progressed. The memory of those delicious beers lingers on, but my head is killing me.

RU55, batch #3 (bottled Sept 2013) from Jester King, and Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio from Cantillon. Both spontaneously fermented and bottle conditioned, with the Jester King beer holding a LOT more body after being barreled in oak.

The gueuze had a distinct lemony tartness that actually paired pretty well with crawfish. Nice clean, dry finish. RU55 was a cacophony of dark berries and earthy funk. Pretty rich all around. I haven't had younger versions of this to compare with, but my friends all seemed to agree that it lost a little bit with age.

I just had one of these. I really feel like watermelon and hops are not a combo that needed to be done.

I don't know where I saw it, but I saw a mixed pack of normal, grapefruit, and pineapple.

Well, I'm a big citra hop fan, so that's probably why I like the pineapple the most. I do like the grapefruit as well.

I responded. I'm pretty excited about this team. I hope it's not an angela schroder situation.

So it turns out this wasn't Oatsmobile beer. It had crossed my mind about the legality and distribution laws and such. But it was a nice package of, for lack of a better term, swag. An Oatsmobile beer glass, a nice bells bottle opener, a smitten keychain bottle opener and the standard assortment of cardboard coasters and stickers. So I immediately went and bought a 6 of Oatsmobile to have in the glass. It's an above average session ale. Im enjoying it.

These Guinness cans are beautiful.
