How much do Marantz receivers in the 2220 to 2245 range cost these days? I see a 2220B listed for $250 that I was thinking about checking out.

search them on ebay and then filter results to show sold listings only and you'll have a good idea

They tend to run between $200-700 depending on the model and the updating

Thanks. I forgot about doing that. Looks like the 2220B is going for a little under $200 without shipping, so $250 isn't a terrible price for Craigslist.

HOT TAKE: I'm kind of getting bored with going to record stores. I haven't had a trip to a store recently, in the past six months or so, that's been fun. Today my wife sent me to the store with an unlimited budget for fun, basically, and I came away with one LP and a 10''. I used to find hidden gems all the time (things that weren't on my want list but when I saw them I said, "Oh! I must have this") but that's happening less and less now. I have a little bit of regret for not supporting local shops, but it's so much easier and cheaper to just shop for what I want online.

Hey, I tried, don't throw rotten fruit or wave your dick at me! It's just disheartening when I see one record out of a hundred in a bin that's something I want, and it's twice as much as it would be at a dozen online retailers. I think we're going to see the vinyl "boom" die down as prices creep up.

Oh I totally get what you're saying. Although for me, finding one record out of hundreds is kind of the thrill for me. Sure, I can get anything I want online at a reasonable price, but that's the amazon effect, yeah? You want it, you got it. Finding it in the wild, that's a thrill for me that just can't be replicated. Even if I just find one record after going to several shops.
And yeah, there are a lot of used records I see that I can often find online for a lot cheaper. But the majority I've found around here seem to be pretty much inline with most of discogs. Sometimes cheaper, sometimes more expensive. Once you take shipping into consideration, a lot of prices are within a few bucks of each other. BUT, sometimes, there are definitely records out there that are kind of price gauged and MUCH MUCH cheaper online, and that's when I have no problem buying something through Discogs.

Since today was payday, I split the difference and ordered from an independent record store online. Thanks, Bull Moose!

Popmarket just sent out an email for preorders of the Singles soundtrack reissue. Sounds like it's legit. Ship date from them (and also listed on the Amazon UK site) is May 19

Ooo I bought the repress of Sea Change a few weeks ago but haven't spun it yet; maybe tomorrow! Really looking forward to Mutations and Midnight Vultures, too.
