In some early scenes in Star Wars, she has sort of a affected accent (such as the first scene where she's talking to Tarkin). This may be in the "legends" cannon now, but this was once explained away as "diplo-speech," an accent people from all over the galaxy would use when speaking to other diplomats.

You can hear it here. It starts to fade as the scene goes on. It may have been something she tried on set one day and it was all the footage they had.

Never heard that explanation. Hilarious

Lol
That's the kind of batshit retconny explanation I was hoping for re: Vader's accent

But that’s not the accent Vader has at all.

I have also heard that David Prowse thought George Lucas was going to use his voice and...yeah.

I don't think Jorge has said Vader sounds English, just that he has an accent. Even with all the respirator noises, you can still hear a bit of that Mississippi drawl.
When his helmet gets pulled off in ROTJ, though, that's a different story.

Yeah Vader has a completely different accent and intonation than Anakin as played by Hayden Christensen. Not British, but completely different to Christensen's generic American accent. I was just wondering if they bothered coming up with any explanation for the difference. If it's just "his voice machine makes him sound like that," that's kind of weak but alrighty.

Guys, this happened in a galaxy far, far away, a long time ago. Earth accents don't even exist there.

Thanks for that
Just shows how perfect they cast that little girl to play her.
Precocious rebellious and taking none of their shit

I don’t think it’s ever really been addressed.

Qui-Gon couldn’t survive it. How is Reeva ??

Obi trice and especially Ani were going pretty hard in that practice duel with real lightsabers at a time when lightsabers were still lethal. I know some wooden swords wouldn’t have the same appeal on tv, but the lack of practicality is all I could think of. If this was how they did this, how many accidental maimings and deaths would happen during training?

Also, Liam Neesons needs to be in the finale, right?

Didn’t think of that.
Obi wan senses something serious aka he’s fucked up leaving that communicator
Then says he’s sure it will be fine.
So he knows she’s died?
I Like this theory. Reeva finds out it was Owen on tatooine just before dying.

I don’t think she died. That was the whole point of them just leaving her there. She wasn’t worth the effort it would take to kill her.

I feel like she just crowds the story at this point since Vader stabbed her. They’ll have to kill her otherwise obi wan wouldn’t keep luke on tattooine knowing she was out there

Yeah, I think the buildup to the finale is pretty obvious--OWK and crew have to somehow get away from Vader, and once they do, Leia is reunited with her family on Alderaan. Ben goes back to Tatooine thinking his job is done, but Reeva is there to meet him, wants to kill him and Luke for revenge. Ben reluctantly kills her.
