Sometimes internet posters use images or phrases as comically exaggerated representations of their intended messages to make those messages more approachable to people who may otherwise be triggered into an emotional response before considering what the message actually says

lol. He’s not getting arrested. If anyone is stoking another insurrection fire, it’s Trump for saying he’s going to get arrested.

This is interesting, from today's NYT:

In the unlikely event that the former president refuses to surrender, he would put Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, his leading but undeclared rival for the Republican nomination, in an awkward political position. Under law, the role of Mr. DeSantis would be essentially ministerial and he would have few legal options other than approving an extradition request from New York.

Still, if New York prosecutors sought Mr. Trump’s extradition, Mr. DeSantis would face an unenviable dilemma. He would be compelled to choose between authorizing an arrest warrant for Mr. Trump and inflaming his base, or attempting in some way to aide his Republican rival, and possibly face legal action as a result.

That's not a hard call. Trump's base would kill DeSantis today if they could.

No sense in pandering to a group that will never vote for you.

I saw that today. That's clever. In his remarks he takes a gentle indirect swipe at Trump, but at the same time takes his side on the circus/political stench of this.

Not much of a surprise. Was this hyped by anyone but Trump himself and the media types who've lived off of him for the past 8 years?
