Pretty much.

I think it had something to do with that he only had 70 hits, no stolen bases, and unimpressive power numbers. walks do not an impressive player make. I'm honestly surprised anyone outside of skitchland did vote for him.

Unimpressive Power numbers? He had the same slugging percentage as Mantle. Higher than Ruth, Yaz and Hornsby.
I'll take another look at the spreadsheet tonight.
I don't want to say power is overrated because it obviously isn't but I think the MVP voters weigh too much into it. Justin Morneau won it in 2006 and it was kind of ridiculous. He was like the 3rd most valuable guy on his team behind Mauer and Johan. I think you could have made a better case for Mauer winning the batting title as a 23 year old catcher and his OPS was .936 and Morneau's was .938. It should have gone to Jeter or Mauer in 2006 but they did not have the sexy power stats. Just my 2 cents.

I need to look at an against LHP lineup i guess.

Probably

Cobb CF
Heilmann LF
Kaline RF
Cabrera 3B
Greenburg 1B
Martinez C
Gehringer 2B
Guillen SS

In fact, thats it!

Honestly, I think Asher was just looking too much at the counting stats, specifically HR. Cash only had 8 i think, in large part because I had him in a platoon for a good chunk of the season. Even with that though he had as many extra base hits as both Mantle AND ruth.

Mauer, Jeter, and Morneau finished 7th, 9th, and 14th respectively in WAR in the AL that year, for what it's worth.

You had a hunch Spud Chandler was going to hit a home run, didn't you?

Where does everyone stand on Schilling for the HoF? Granted he'd better than Morris (IMHO) but I think Schill gets in.
