One of many discoveries this forum lead me to over the years. I remember them being the highlight of an end of year mix that biltop made for the board several years ago. Miss that guy.

The vocals might be my favorite thing about The Shins. I love their first three records so much.

They're great albums, all three of 'em -- perhaps bordering on a bit too cutesy at times, but the songwriting is impeccable, just unbelievably sharp hooks. I didn't care for the fourth album very much (or for Broken Bells -- Mercer's collab with Danger Mouse), but I didn't spend much time with them either. Do they have a new-new one out?

I have no idea really. I've only listened to the first three records.
