I wish. It tries, but it never quite gets to a level that elicits anything, even a vague creepy feeling. It all feels like its written by Richard Matheson, and not in a good way. Of course! Season 1 is great. And it's essential to the rest of the show. His final season is in a lot of ways a loop back around to the dynamics of the first season. Don't even think about skipping any seasons.

On the last season of Hell On Wheels now. Decent western. Feel like it always had potential to be a lot better. But my brother and his wife both prefer it to Deadwood, which I find a bit odd.
