When I think of it, the quality of the story is not what comes to mind, but I haven’t seen it.

The sex scenes felt labored. I do not understand the bandana obsession in the movie either.

Excellent.
Well that seals it. No way I'm ever watching that movie.

We watched 'Raya and the Last Dragon' again for family movie night. Still great.

One of the movies of the year for sure. Ashton Kutcher deserves an Oscar.
Had heard about it but wasn’t interested. Watched the trailer after you posted this and now I hope to watch it this evening.
Watched it. I thought it was good but not great. Interesting turn for Kutcher, but not even remotely Oscar worthy, IMO. But I do hope it leads to better roles for him.

It never got at as dark or gritty as I was hoping. The part that really resonated with me was when Novak initially pitched the podcast concept, being a show about how in a world with so much sadness and disconnection, people find it easier to make up an enemy than to just accept that life sucks and is unfair. I wish the movie really unpacked this more, but as it became more of a whodunnit, it started to feel less interesting.

Overall good flick, fairly novel. But it didn’t blow my hair back.
Yeah I agree that the movie tried to do a lot; and not always work. But it really manages to be careful about it’s characters and also be funny, sad or violent. It never judges them and I loved that.

Cmon Kutcher crushes it. He is glorious.

The Northman.

Kinda what I expected. Looked good but too long. Overall it feel merely ok.

I should watch The Northman again. I didn't particularly like it, but some parts kinda suck in my head and maybe I'll like it better the second time.

The first half was really great but the second half was kinda labored and dull.

I expected to like it more, but yeah I really enjoyed the look and there were some great scenes. But otherwise underwhelming.

The second half was like "who is killing all my soldiers? It can't be the 6'4" guy that looks like he spends five hours a day cross-fit, so I guess I'll never figure it out!"

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I bet it would’ve benefitted from another 20 mins, let some things breathe more.
Yeah agreed

All the stuff before they got to Iceland was great. After that it became a mess, but some elements here and there were cool.
