It's sort of moot how stupid I sound. Chaim chose to neither go all in, nor dump useless guys to play younger "talent" and see who surprises him.
Oh well. At least I was right about the swoon. Regression's a bitch.

Like I said before. I don't care what they got for the guys going out. The talent I'm speaking of is on the farm right now and should get exposure. Maybe those players will surprise Chaim and either be more useful (than the players going out) or be more valuable in a future trade.

Casas should be at 1B. Franchy sucks. Winckowski, Groome, and Bello should get a shot. And honestly anybody is better than watching Perez & Richards.
Pivetta was amazing today despite the L. Houck was good enough for a 7-inning team-W. Just roll with the kids and see what happens.

Casas is far less ready than Duran, who is clearly not ready. None of those other guys are expected to be quality major leaguers as far as I know, not that the Red Sox aren’t often very wrong about their own prospects.

Obviously part of this is on the players as they’ve been playing like the bad news bears, but if standing pat at the deadline took their air out of their sails as much as it obviously did, outright selling off wild have been even worse.

I'd rather the kids get a chance to see what they can do and either get dealt later or contribute.

They didn't stand pat. I think the team just overperformed and is now regressing to their respective norm.

The overperform could have been supplemented by additions, they did essentially nothing(acquiring an injured player who isn’t slated to return soon and two DFA candidate relievers.)

Maybe they're playing the long game of getting lower in the standings to really make some savvy moves through the waiver deadline.

I didn’t watch the game today, just followed the box score on my phone, but it was clear in like the 5th that they were gonna blow it.

Honestly, Cora needs to be getting a little criticism here. Boneheaded errors and baserunning mistakes is on the manager.

I mean, they all have covid now, right?
ERod should step away from the team.

Schwarber had a "setback." Figures as much, I thought it was odd there was radio silence on him for an entire week after Cora said he'd be out on a rehab "in a day or two" the day after the trade. Great job, Chaim.
EDIT: At the time of the trade, word was other teams backed off because they didnt think Schwarber would be back in enough time to help.

It's weird because as badly as they have been playing, I'm not mad at the players at all(other than Richards, I'm always mad at him.) I am absolutely LIVID with the front office, though.

I think things will shake out just as you'd have expected in April.
Next year's expectations are going to be high though.
