The flipside is not pretending you want unity when you really just want submission.Rob wrote:I mean, the flip side of this (the anti-Lib/SJW) has never really seemed any better. It's all just a projection of feelings and signalling. So I guess the answer to Strat's question is "no, unity is unlikely at this time."BurtReynolds wrote:"Why won't all these inbred gun-toting racist redneck red staters come together with us!?"

Everybody does that. The only time we don’t see it is when it’s coming from a group whose desired outcomes match our own enough to blind us.BurtReynolds wrote:The flipside is not pretending you want unity when you really just want submission.Rob wrote:I mean, the flip side of this (the anti-Lib/SJW) has never really seemed any better. I used to think I did but now, fuck it.Mickey wrote:I definitely do not want unity.
The 9/11 death count comparison isn't particularly relevant outside of NYC. Most people in the US have been on a plane, most have not seen a pandemic.verb_to_trust wrote:These types of emotions are barely registering at all in rural America. 9/11 spawned Toby Keith songs. What COVID19 will bring us is more partisan divide, especially if our efforts to social distance bring the projected deaths down under six figures. If that happens you'll hear things like : the liberal media was just trying to take down Trump, ect.Strat wrote:Is there any conversation to be had regarding number of deaths compared to 9/11? Or was that because it was brown people and the enemy that we were more upset about that?
Will we just go back to partisan bullshit bickering or will the country maybe come together finally if even for a brief moment such as 9/11?
America fucking sucks

CT hasn't called it off for the year yet, but no one here expects schools to open before next Fall. Very strong rumors that an announcement is imminent. I'm sure this will be true in the entire north east (except maybe northern New England).Superblood Wolfmoon wrote:Oregon too.Peeps wrote:PA just shut down schools for the rest of the school year
