I have a sneaking suspicion 'The Last Jedi' actually refers to Yoda. Not Luke.

Haven't we already established that Jedi was plural in the title?

Yes. It's been announced and Hidalgo said it was in that seminar that dime got me in trouble over.

Pablo may have confirmed it. But that would be the first time someone has. It certainly hasn't been "announced" anywhere that I've seen. The title has been plural on posters in foreign markets but that's hardly an announcement.

I'm thinking luke has long dropped the Jedi ideology and teachings and he's working in this new paradigm. And we're fairly sure Yoda is in 8 and plays a part.

I wouldn't take anything off the table. At the same time what's in a name?
Star Wars titles usually only really make sense once you've seen the film.

Type a sentence into Google translate. Then post the new sentence in the new language and ask native speakers if the sentence makes grammatical sense.

Any time you're dealing with languages, you're dealing with this kind of thing. It's entirely possible that these languages have articles that require it to appear plural (like Last OF THE Jedi, in which, Jedi is plural but last is singular).

Also, see my above post.

All I know is, someone asked Hidalgo about it and he said yes, it's plural. That was good enough for me.

Prolly, yeah.

Though, this being the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars, it could just be they're getting as many people as possible from all the previous films to show up.
