Also noticed Jeff a little more in the mix; wish he was more present.
Hope they do a live take for the video….there is a video coming right ?
Do bands still make real videos?
Everyone seems to either just shit out a lyric video or slap some AI-generated slop together these days.

I still like the version of Sirens from the video more than the studio version we got.

Sirens is such a hard song for me to deal with, because all of its component parts (save perhaps some overly dramatic piano playing and Ed going way too high at his age) I adore, but somehow they're put together in kind of a frankenstein manner. I feel similarly about LBC. They are beautiful Pearl Jam songs, but not nearly as perfect (to my taste at least) as others that I love.

I don't get a Frankenstein's monster vibe from LBC at all.

I presume the band shots in this video (in the background of pearljam.com) are from the Dark Matter film clip, but I'm surprised they haven't released the whole thing yet. You'd think they'd release it with the single.

I bet they're saving the video to have something to keep the hype up. Release the song, release the video a few weeks later, release the second single a few weeks later... I don't think this is a great choice, but I bet that is what will happen. The marketing for the album isn't really amazing so far. I mean... they're trying to keep the hype up by posting some lyrics of unheard songs every other day.

they kinda did it too for Dance...were they released three videos of the same song. And the one with the band was released last.
Yeah, the marketing for this album is really weird but it also feels like PJ in terms of them not doing much.

I kind of find it refreshingly low-key; no Verizon or Target mergers, back to PJ releasing stuff that will go relatively unnoticed (though debuting on several rock / alternative charts is good, I'll take that)

It's funny. Bands that routinely take the amount of time between releases that they have over the past two decades generally make their album cycles a bit of an event, especially at this stage of their careers.
I really hope Eddie and the Pearl Jams are gearing up for some cool things in the next couple of weeks.
