Yep. The liner notes say "hymn" (instead of "him"), not "hymns".

I'm getting the feeling there may be a couple of things written differently in the liner notes. PJ have done that before too.

It's an ongoing, living and breathing expression of universal beauty....and beauty has a knack for tearing a person up. I see it as, "This world's so remarkable it almost hurts." The implications of that being, perhaps, that ownership is less about freedom than it is about responsibility. We have a responsibility to maintain this tear-jerking beauty. Or, perhaps, here you have this living and breathing representation of love, this wonderful planet, and all these people can talk about is pie in the sky.

Now THAT'S a lyric that makes me think of parenthood.

I've decided I liked the S/T artwork, but the fact that the music didn't fit it (not quite drug-induced and trippy enough) sort of diminishes it. The last album I liked completely (including artwork) was Riot Act. So this is the best album and artwork since then for me.

I really love the Riot Act cover, probably as much as any cover in the catalog. But the booklet and the rest of the artwork on that one are nice and subdued, appropriate, but otherwise nothing special. The customized song artwork, slightly cartoony but not Backspacer-ish, really works for me here. This is no Vitalogy or Yield for me, but it's probably right in the conversation after those two.

I would say they were special because they were so appropriately subdued, fitting the album.

Yeah, the black humour / edgy cartoon stuff is really working for this album.

Any inkling of what the "exclusive digital content" with the preorder will be? I'm prepared for it to be the short film on YouTube and/or bootleg download code, but I'm hoping it could be:

* A Single Video Theory length version of the short film
* B-side or two
* Live versions of Lightning Bolt songs performed tonight in Pittsburgh

I've forgotten what the Backspacer content was.

I liked Ed's look over at them as they discussed it. He has to know those are their 2 best records and he did the heavy lifting on both.

Maybe he wishes he could've done more work on it *because* it's his favourite. I know I feel like that about my poetry. When I publish a poem that I think is really good, I'm frustrated that I didn't wait to make it great.
