Probably the greatest evidence I've ever seen that charisma + magnets + stealing children from their parents for "their own good" = Jedi.

A light saber is the equivalent of a free candy van in a galaxy far, far away.

Inversely, Ensign9’s (assuming Dime is addressing him here) expectations around Stars Wars writing and execution are strangely high. As you said, it’s always been a patchworked mess, not some carefully crafted storyline like Lost or GoT. Well, the first several seasons of GoT… those last couple were more like Star Wars.
One of the biggest plot points of the original trilogy ("No...I am your father!") was a retcon that so contradicted the first movie that they had to add a line to the third movie ("...from a certain point of view") for it to all make sense. They have always been making it up as they go along.
I think many of Ensign's critiques are valid (I am fairly sure you wrote about the tired plot structures and such, Ensign, which is what makes this a hard watch for me), but I point this out to also agree with spike--if you had fun with the original trilogy, it's sort of disingenuous to be too hard on the retconning here.
Why are you always wrong?
Do you do it on purpose ?

Well, of course they can make S2.
We know bout Kenobi in ANH through Luke and Owen. Yes, he is a loner..thats what Owen says. They could make a whole season about Obi Wan being in tatooine, just carefully watching Luke and also dealing with whoever learns that kid is Vader´s son, and it would be alright.

Where did they get all those lightsabers? Who owned them previously?

Why start now?
Worrying about upsetting the established canon is a fool's errand. The thing is already a ramshackle, patched-together mess. They should just approach Star Wars as an interesting world from which to craft stories and not fuss so much about continuity.
Have Obi Wan fight and kill and eat Vader. Who cares
Agreed. Lucas has been retconning stuff since 1977. He clearly makes shit up as he goes along. Pretty sure he likened the plan for the prequels as a 'jazz riff' and went into them with zero plan, other than having to hit the main beats to connect to the original trilogy.
I think the show is pretty mediocre - the writing isn't great, it looks cheap and I'm not invested in any of the characterals other than Kenobi/Vader. But getting hung up on minor details around canon/lore seems real dweeby to me.

When you think about it. It’s all Qui gons fault. If he hada just left the bloody kid there with his mam, none of this woulda happened and the galaxy would be safe.

Did anyone else kinda lose it at that opening shot? I did
And he’s staring straight over at Padmes building/apartment apparently?
This episode was a lot. Did more to really show and develop Anakin and where he’s headed than the prequels managed (for *meeeeee*) I get it if you don’t see it that way don’t shout at me.
I’m probably projecting onto him but I dint think so but Vader. Usually just evil and kinda uninteresting, was made real. He’s fucking seething. With even staring out that window. You get his bloods boiling. Chow did amazing work there.
Seeing these two go at it and no holds barred too. And that over the line willing to kill determination Anakin has. Just mad brilliant
I loved this episode so much.

That Lost was perfectly planned in comparison to the OT seems silly.
