That's hilarious.

Seriously, probably the biggest thing it has going for it is how feminist and progressive it is in it's representation of women. But that's the thing about feminism, right? It's not one thing. Just because one woman finds it progressive and appreciates the depiction doesn't mean that all woman will/should.

I happen to be in the "good for women" camp. But beyond that, I do actually think it's a really funny and enjoyable film, too.

A comedy made because of this era of ¨raunchy¨ movies....but besides that, their idea of women was hilariously old...its the mainstream american version of feminism were everything changes but stays the same.

All I know is the women in my life love this movie for exactly the opposite reasons you've stated here. Imma go ahead and trust them when it comes to how women are presented and represented on the American cinema screen.

All of that aside, I enjoyed the movie. I thought the first one was funny. I'm sorry you and Jorge did not. But that's the way art goes, no? Sometimes we'll agree and sometimes we won't. Who cares? The discussions are fun, as you said. I'm glad we get to talk about all of this. I'm sure I'll enjoy this second one enough for the both of us.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
