So filoni has said he's wrapping things up from clone wars in Rebels. if they are? They'll either address this or ignore it totally.

I don't understand this. Why does Snoke have to be some spirit that has possessed a body? Why can't he just be a being from unknown regions.

Yeah I agree with this. To me, the whole spirit angle sounds kind of dumb, and really lazy writing.

If he's actually a transient spirit it would make sense he'd want to groom her instead of grooming kylo who is less powerful.

Secondly, he doesn't have to be a transient spirit to want to groom her instead of him who is less powerful. He can be just a regular being have the same desire/goal.

From where? Why wait until now? Surely if he's that powerful he could have had Palpatine and all his minions under his sway and answerable to him and doing all the dirty work for him rather than the first order which are a tiny fraction of the strength of the imperial fleet and army at the end of the OT

Again, I'm not tracking your jumps here.

How do we know he's so much more powerful than Palpatine? Maybe he wanted to see how all of that played out before moving in. Doesn't matter where he's from. He could be from anywhere. Though, outside the known SW galaxy is as good a place as any. Even if he is super powerful and local, "why wait until now?" is a good question. And one I imagine they'll answer over the course of the next two films and/or a novel or two. But, again, transient spirit isn't a necessary answer to that question. There are plenty of satisfactory answers that keep Snoke as a physical being.
