This is not a part of the weapon that experiences substantial strain. Most articles covering this fail to discuss the lower receiver aspect, hence the confusion.

Re-upping because the ATF keeps losing in court because many modern firearms do not qualify as having a single part that is a "firearm".

Their definition worked pretty well when the serialized portion contained pretty much everything, but nowadays with modular firearms...

The ATF cant successfully prosecute anyone with any money until they roll out some new firearm definitions. This probably will be a bad things for everyone outside of the cases they've had to drop.

This is the same judge that blocked California's magazine ban. I wonder when he gets impeached/ assaulted.

Its a shame that he ruled well after the most recent run on ammo.

Ninth circuit reversed this judge until it can be heard there.

Perhaps this is a blessing, preventing Californians from buying overpriced ammo at this time.

I look forward to the additional improvements that McConnel can make to the Ninth.

The ATF has some rather strange rules about these things. I think something like an overall length definition for rifle vs pistol would make a lot more sense. If that were the case there wouldn't be this silliness with short barreled rifles requiring a tax stamp or what constitutes a pistol brace vs. a stock.

Not certain, but I've seen it claimed that molotov cocktails are NFA items. Maybe after enough people get federal charges for rioting, we'll finally have bipartisan movement on the need to abolish the NFA.

I have always been fully anti-gun and felt the US amendment to arm bears was fucking stupid. But if I understand it correctly the amendment was concerned with ensuring citizens could fight against the government should the government go rogue.

The arms bearers are typically pro police. These rioters and looters never seem to fully realize their rights, probably due to the racial policing practices. Well, except for the white kids that seem to be the ones predominantly causing destruction to personal property. And if they did start shooting back, that will just causes the power structures in the country to criminalize people even further.
