He's being diplomatic.

If anything, MYM could easily be described as 'pop', so if he means it in that sense, then fine.

Even with side projects, a year and a half feels like an awfully long time to get no work done on a record. I had figured they were going in intermittently, but according to O'Brien there was no work done between 2010/11 and this winter?

I've suddenly just had the horrible vision of 'Infallible' being a piece of shiny self-help / inspirational pop / pap, about beating the world's bad times and feeling awesome and appreciating music. I feel infallible yeah yeah yeah no one's gonna break me down.
