That was pleasant enough, but yeah. If I want to hear Save It for Later, I'm putting on 11/6/2000 every time.

Going forward, when I want to hear it, I'm going to play all the different versions together at the same time.

Everything that has a sax solo in it is better than everything that does not. Sorry. I don’t make the law.
Spoiler: show
I am the law.

This feels like the kind of thing people say right before I invite them to join us in the jazz thread and then get stood up

This has grown on me quickly. It doesn't have the breathless (youthful) energy of the live versions, but there is a wistful longing present here that's pretty compelling and fits in well with his 'I've been through some shit and have wisdom to share' vocal that avoids the melodrama of the live versions(despite the sax presence, which automatically ups the melodrama percentage by at least 30%). that melodrama is delightful, mind you, but we already have it.

Okay, I get how folks here are gonna react to this, and I'm sorry, but in all honesty,... I like this more than a lot of DM. And I usually give short shift to covers like this. But this is really impactful.

I kinda can't believe how good this is.

I agree with you; I can't say "better than DM" because the song is a cover so some of its strengths aren't Ed's work, but I hope the next album carries this sonic depth forward
