Moof milker? Ugh. They didnt need to put that in there just to tie it to TFA.
Also, was there anything ever in the OT about Han's dice? Why did this become a thing? They shoe horned it into last jedi because they knew he would have lucky dice in the upcoming solo? Am i correct on that?
Or were their lucky dice in the falcon during the OT?
You can see the dice in A New Hope.
I had to have noticed this? Im sure ive glanced over it for the past 30 years of my life. Funny. This makes sense to as Fuzzy Dice hanging from mirrors was a big thing in the 70's and 80's.

There was a cut scene from TFA, too, where Han hangs them back in the Falcon. Rian wrote the dice into TLJ because of that scene in TFA. But then it got cut and people thought the dice in TLJ was a little out of nowhere.
But they are in the OT. It was a little joke Lucas threw in as a reference to his love for 1950's culture and American Graffiti. They just aren't ever a major focus in those films, just set dressing.

it could have justified its existence by being a good work of art...but, alas

I dont mean for this to come off as aggressive or anything else other than an honest question....
But....
Can a movie just be a mindless escape for a couple hours without you needing to classify it as art? If a shitty movie is not an artistic expression (by your standards) is there still value in it existing?

But you could say that about any movie, really.
I'm specifically referring to the context of Star Wars.

There are probably young kids all across this land that are LOVING these new movies. LIke we did when we were younger.
These are their star wars films and im so thankful they get to experience all that joy without the baggage of aging. Fuck yes.
I agree with LV´s views but i had so much fun anyway. I didnt care for Emilia Clarke or Lando too but the movies visuals are just too damn amazing. I was very into it.

Ah. Sure. That's an issue others have with it as well. And I don't disagree. I didn't want this movie. And it is inconsequential. But I think there's room for "slice of life" lower stakes films, if they're made well. I think an Obi-Wan movie could be the same kind of thing depending on what they do with it. Doesn't mean I want that any less.

I'm sure there are and they every right to enjoy them.
I know people who were little kids when the prequels came out and they goddamn love those movies. Even Jar Jar. Lucas has said that these movies are for 12 year old kids.
I would say the worst part of Solo´s performance in the box office are the reshoots.
The budget is fucking expensive...It was kinda impossible for this film to made that kind of money back.

I hope that makes sense. Curious though!
All movies are works of art by my standards. It's just what they are by definition.
